I started Ivory Hill because I grew sick of the bear market advisor rhetoric where I was told by my firm to tell clients "This is a long-term investment approach" and "the market will come back eventually so we just need to stay the course." Even though there were clear signs that the market was going to continue to go down for the foreseeable future, advisors stuck to their buy-and-hold strategies.

I developed a rules based investment strategy that is hyper-focused on managing downside risk. We reduce risk when market conditions signal volatility is likely and increase risk when conditions signal volatility is unlikely.

Why? Because massive long-term returns are achieved through the avoidance of major market crashes. We don't try to predict market direction. We make decisions based on market conditions. We can't control the market but we can control downside risk.
